- » Why should I resole my shoe?
You should always resole your shoes, preferably before you wear them so that you can protect the delicate sole that most designer shoes are made with. When you apply a new protective sole to your shoes the shoes will last longer and you won’t have dirty soles or soles where the coloured lacquer/painted soles have worn away and you will also prolong the life of your shoes.
New rubber soles also make the shoes easier to walk in as they provide rubber to grip the ground as you walk & the rubber soles give extra padding to support the thin soles that the shoes are made with. - » Some people say you shouldn't resole your shoe as it affects the structure of the shoe?
All of our soles are made of rubber between 1.0mm and 1.8mm thick. When the sole is applied to the shoe you cannot see the sole from the side of the shoe as the sole is so thin. Also with such thin rubber it will not affect the structure or balance of the shoe which is a main feature of the shoe when the shoe is being constructed and made.
- » Does the colour match?
Yes. All of our coloured soles are made to match the different coloured soles of designer shoes. The colours on our site are as close to the colour of the original designer shoe sole as possible. Please look at our pictures to see if the colour will match your shoe soles.
The red soles are a perfect colour match for Christian Louboutin & Cesare Paciotti red soles. There are some soles on the market which do not match perfectly and are more orange than red. Please see our photos to show the match of the red sole to the Louboutin sole. - » What colours do you sell?
We currently sell red, cream, black, blue, grey and white. We are planning on introducing more colours soon so please email us at helpme@saveyoursole.co.uk if you have a colour that we don’t currently stock and we will help you get it!
- » How do I put them on my shoe?
You need to take the soles to a professional cobbler to have them professionally adhered to your shoes. They use special repair machines and instruments to ensure that they are properly fitted to your shoes. Please don’t try to put these on yourself – well you can but they probably won’t stay on for long and won’t look very good. You can look at our Trusted Cobbler section to have someone that we have tried out and trust to look after your shoes.
- » What size is right for my shoe?
The half sole is perfect for the front of the sole of your shoe. The soles are 16.7cm by 10.8cm and will fit all shoes up to a female size 42.
For Christian Louboutin shoes, if you wear your shoes all the time (and to be honest - who wouldn't want to) then you are best to purchase 1.8mm soles as they are thicker and they will last longer.
For men’s shoes & women with a shoe size over 42 please buy the full soles. The soles are 30cm by 23cm and will fit all shoes. If you have a shoe size larger than this please email us and we will make you custom sized soles. - » What happens to the excess rubber?
The standard size of the sole is for to cater for all shapes & shoe sizes. When you take the soles to the cobbler the excess sole rubber is cut off by the cobbler and discarded so the sole is cut to perfectly fit your shoes. Watch this clip to see how (link to YouTube)
- » Why buy from Save Your Sole?
Save Your Sole is run by shoe experts who not only love shoes but know all about shoe care especially for designer shoes. We sell a whole range of colours and are constantly looking for new ways to protect & care for our shoes. We can answer all of your questions about looking after your designer shoes just email helpme@saveyoursole.co.uk
We started Save Your Sole as we were tired of buying designer shoes with different coloured soles – especially red & leather coloured soles and having to put a black rubber sole on the bottom which was not only ugly but changed the structure and look of the shoe.
We also found it really hard to find coloured rubber soles to match our shoes and now that we have found them we want everyone to be able to get them quickly as well! - » Why have we partnered with Vibram?
Because they are the best in the industry – we researched all of the soles that are currently offered in the market place and Vibram consistently came first due to quality of materials, colour match to the designer shoe & strength and durability of the sole.
Vibram have over 65 years of experience in the shoe industry. They have worked with alot of designer brands including Dolce & Gabbana and Prada Sport. They invest heavily in new technology and focus on innovation. As a partner we can rely on seeing new innovative products from Vibram on a regular basis. For more information www.vibram.com - » What about other brands on the market?
There are a few different brands of soles that are currently in the marketplace but the other brands did not have a wide range of colours, the colour match to the designer shoe was not good and they did not have the range of products or innovative approach that Vibram provides.
